HELGA FELSBERGER, PhD. I graduated in Psychology and English at the University of Salzburg, Austria (Diploma and PhD) and later on I was trained as a psychotherapist and group analyst at the ÖAGG - the Austrian Association of Group Dynamics and Group Psychotherapy and in MBT with Peter Fonagy and Anthony Bateman at the Anna Freud Centre/London.
My working experience covers teaching Psychology, English and German in Vienna, London and Florence, and later as a psychotherapist and group analyst in private practice and at the General Hospital in Vienna (AKH), the Caritas (therapeutic groups with refugees) and other institutions (therapeutic groups with adolescent BPD patients). I have held group workshops (with children and teachers) for preventing violence at schools with the Austrian Board of Education and the University College for Education in Vienna, team supervision with medical nurses, self experience groups with teachers being trained for supporting children with emotional and behavioral difficulties at the University of Vienna.
Since 2011 I have been the Honorary Secretary in the Management Committee of the Group Analytic Society International.
In 2012 I was elected chair of the board of the Austrian Group Analytic Training Institution (within the ÖAGG)
I am a training group analyst at SGAZ.
I am co-editor (together with Josef Shaked and Wolfgang Martin Roth) of the Austrian Yearbook of Group Analysis.
